From December 9–13, 2024, Ocean Revive joined the global coral restoration community at Reef Futures 2024, hosted by the Coral Restoration Consortium (CRC) in Riviera Maya, Mexico. This biennial symposium gathered over 800 practitioners, scientists, policymakers, and innovators to share leading-edge restoration research, strategies, and technologies.

Reconnecting with Global Coral Restoration Leaders

At Reef Futures, Ocean Revive connected with fellow restoration experts and highlighted the latest advances in our modular coral restoration platforms. Our team participated in panel discussions, workshops, fieldtrips, and informal exchanges covering strategies to integrate logistics-friendly reef restoration tools into global restoration workflows.

Strengthening Regional Leadership in the MENA Coral Community

Ocean Revive also participated in the inaugural meeting of the Coral Restoration Consortium's Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) regional group. This gathering marked a milestone in the formation of a dedicated regional network focused on advancing coral restoration knowledge, policy, and collaboration across the Gulf, Red Sea, and broader MENA region.

What's Next for Ocean Revive

Looking ahead, Ocean Revive will apply new tools and techniques to scale up restoration projects across the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf, deepen collaboration with global reef scientists and NGOs, and play an active role in regional restoration roadmaps including the new MENA Coral Restoration Group.
